The project structure provides for a steering group consisting of the chief executive officers and president/chairman of each of the bodies involved. A project board with representatives from all the organisations deals with the day to day management, and reporting to the project board are specialist teams focusing on aspects of the service design: premises layouts, training and education, pharmacist intervention, communication and the research strategy. The Department of Health attends meetings of the Steering Group and Project Board in an observer capacity, as the project itself is funded by the DoH in the sum of at least £1.5 million.
Reporting to the Project Board is the National Project Manager.
The Universities of Aberdeen, Keele and Nottingham together with the College of Pharmacy Practice are evaluating the project, lead by Professor Christine Bond.
